Statement-Dreamscapes
I find landscapes endlessly fascinating. I’ve had the privilege of traveling to a lot of beautiful places and I take inspiration from each one. Being from New Orleans I am easily impressed by any type of topographical diversity and I really enjoy painting hills and mountains. I have dreams regularly where I discover some cliffs or giant rocks somewhere nearby that I had never seen before. Usually in a lucid dream state I absorb these vistas and try and take a picture of them in the hopes that when I wake up they’ll be on my phone. No such luck yet. To me every piece of furniture can and should be a functional piece of art and every painting should be a little world of its own. The viewer can stop and live in this world for a while and decide for themselves where each landscape is located because I’m not sure myself.
